Most of the photography from San Francisco's Finest is taken with a Nikon D80 digital camera, using various lenses ranging from telephoto to macro.  There are a few in the collection, mainly the ones that are limited in size to 8" x 10", that were captured over the years onto slides and have been digitally enhanced for reproduction.

Because the aspect ratio of the digital photography may differ from the ratio of the print size selected, the image may be cropped and will appear slightly different in person than it does on the website, where the full image is displayed.  If at any time you place an order with us and it is not cropped to your liking, feel free to return it to us in exchange for a different view of the same photograph or you may select another image if you choose.

All photographs from San Francisco’s Finest are printed using only Kodak processing, which uses a light source inside the printer to expose the photographic paper pixel by pixel, emulating traditional photographic printing.  The pictures have a matte finish on high-quality, resin-coated, silver-halide color paper optimized for digital printers.  Because monitors may be calibrated to present color differently than in print, the images may arrive to you in a slightly different hue than you were expecting.  If at any time you place an order with us and it is not the color you were expecting, feel free to return it to us in exchange for a different image of your choosing. 

Your picture will be matted and framed at the time of your order, with the custom colors of your choosing.  Our mats are acid and lignin free to protect the photograph for a lifetime, and our frames are made from real wood, which can be subject to grain variations depending on the season of harvest and handling of the wood prior to staining or painting.  8” x 10” and 16” x 20” orders will be sent with real glass, but the 20" x 30" size frames will have plexi-glass by default.  If you wish to have custom glass cut for a frame this large, please email us for pricing.

Because your pictures are made custom at the time of your order, please allow 5-7 days for processing.  Shipping will be done through USPS in the service level you selected at checkout, which will add 1 day for Express Mail and 3-5 days for Priority Mail.  We will ship to PO Boxes, but we will only ship within the United States at this time.

If at any time within 30 days of receipt you decide you are not happy with the print, mat, or frame you have chosen, feel free to return it to us for exchange.  Include a copy of your invoice with the return, noting the image name, mat, and frame choices you wish to change to, and ship it back to us.  If you want to change to a larger size picture, the amount you paid will be applied to the new order.  Please allow 10-14 days for processing on the exchange and new order.
